APC Deepening Internal Democracy, Says Chairman After Transparent Primary

An All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for the Zango-Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency, Gen. Gora Katunku (retd.), has extended warm Sallah greetings to Muslim faithful, urging residents to sustain unity and support leaders committed to people-oriented governance.

In a statement made available to journalists on Thursday, Katunku congratulated Muslims in Zango-Kataf, Jaba, Kaduna State, and across Nigeria on the successful completion of Ramadan, describing the period as one of sacrifice, reflection, and spiritual renewal.

He called on citizens to imbibe the virtues of tolerance, compassion, and peaceful coexistence, stressing that such values remain critical to fostering stability and development in the constituency and the country at large.

“The essence of Sallah is not only in celebration but in the lessons it teaches, patience, generosity, and unity. These are the values we must uphold as a people to build a stronger and more inclusive society,” he said.

Katunku also used the occasion to call on the people of Kaduna State to continue supporting Governor Uba Sani, whom he commended for what he described as people-oriented leadership anchored on the SUSTAIN Agenda.

According to him, the governor’s development blueprint has demonstrated a clear commitment to improving infrastructure, enhancing security, and promoting inclusive growth across the state.

“The SUSTAIN Agenda of Governor Uba Sani is a practical roadmap for development. It reflects a leadership style that listens to the people and responds to their needs.

I urge our people to continue to support his administration for the overall progress of Kaduna State,” Katunku stated.

He further called for sustained support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that his administration is working to reposition the nation’s economy and strengthen governance structures despite prevailing challenges.

Katunku emphasized that national development requires collective sacrifice and cooperation, urging Nigerians to remain hopeful and committed to the unity of the country.

Speaking on his ambition, the retired general pledged to provide purposeful and strategic representation if elected to the House of Representatives, noting that effective lawmaking goes beyond distribution of rice.

“True representation is about making laws that positively impact lives, influencing national policies, and ensuring that our constituency benefits from federal presence through tangible projects,” he said.

He assured constituents of his commitment to championing key issues such as security, youth empowerment, education, and infrastructure development, adding that his background in leadership and service equips him to deliver results.

Katunku also urged well-meaning individuals to extend support to the less privileged during the festive period, stressing the need for compassion and social responsibility.

“As we celebrate this joyous occasion, let us remember those in need and extend love and kindness to them. Together, we can build a society where everyone has a sense of belonging,” he added.

Reiterating his appeal for support, Katunku called on the people of Zango-Kataf and Jaba to rally behind his aspiration, assuring them of transparent, accountable, and people-driven representation.

He prayed for enduring peace, unity, and prosperity in Kaduna State and Nigeria, expressing optimism that the spirit of Eid would usher in renewed hope and progress for all.
