Rivers LG inaugurates staff verification committee

The Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area in Rivers,  Mr Chijioke Ihunwo, has inaugurated an 11-member staff verification committee to enhance transparency and efficiency of council’s staff.

Ihunwo inaugurated the committee on Tuesday at Obio/Akpor, the council’s headquarters.

Speaking at the ceremony, the chairman said that the verification exercise would equip his administration with a comprehensive database of the council’s staff.

”This exercise will enable us to have a comprehensive database of those working in the council, it will also streamline operations and curb inefficiency.

”We believe that the verification when concluded would also promote accountability as we deliver on our democratic mandate,” he said.

Mr Sam Amadi, the Head of Local Government Administration of the council, commended the chairman for the initiative and urged the committee to use their expertise in executing the assignment.

Responding on behalf of members, the committee chairman, Mr Promise Ogele, who promised to deliver, thanked the council chairman for the confidence reposed in them.

Other members of the committee include: Atey Better, Nwolu Precious Tomba, Amadi Izubunka, Okala Bright, Samuel Ndubuisi, Fortune Isi, Patience Livingstone, Victoria Omunakwe, Blessing Dugbor, and Abigail Chiorlru-Ejukwa who will serve as Secretary. (NAN)
