LEADERSHIP Weekend observed that the resignation of the five state government officials may not be unconnected the ongoing face-off between Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.

While Ben-Chioma, Worlu, Nbina and Obuzor, served in various capacities under the immediate-past administration of Wike, Orji was state publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The resignation of the five officials bring to 11, the number of government appointees that have resigned from the Fubara-led government in the past 24 hours.

The appointees that have so far resigned from the position include the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Professor Zaccheus Adango; the Commissioner for Special Projects, Chief Chukwuemeka Woke and the Commissioner for Works, Dr. Dakorima George Kelly

Others are the Commissioner for Finance, Hon. Issac Kamalu, the Commissioner for Social Welfare, Mrs. Chinwenwo Aguma and the Commissioner for Education, Professor Chinedu Mmom.
