The House of Representatives Committee on the North East Development Commission (NEDC) has expressed satisfaction with the quality of work in the various intervention projects being executed by the commission in Borno.

Rep.Usman Zannah, the Chairman of the Committee, said this when he inspected some of the projects in Jere and Mafa Local Government Areas(LGAs) of the state.
Zannah also inspected the rehabilitation work at the damaged portion of Alau Dam Emergency spillway and commended the contractor for a job well done.

“We are here to examine, to see and evaluate the NEDC. We have gone round, we have seen what the commission has done, particularly the roads in Jere bowl linking many farming communities in Jere and Mafa LGAs.

“We want to commend the management of NEDC for the performance,” he said.

Zannah, who also witnessed the distribution of 1,000 water pumps, 400 cartons of herbicides, 200 spaghetti making machines and 200 grinding machines to farmers in Jere and Mafa LGAs by NEDC, urged beneficiaries to make maximum use of the items.

He also lauded NEDC for its efforts in boosting agriculture production in communities affected by the Boko Haram insurgency. (NAN)
