In his address, Governor Uba Sani praised Professor Maikudi’s achievements, describing her as “an outstanding academic who has become a symbol of female doggedness and excellence.” He added, “She’s an inspiration to our youths.”

Professor Maikudi is the first female Professor of Law in Northern Nigeria and has now become the youngest Vice Chancellor to lead a federal university in the country. Her appointment is widely seen as a breakthrough for gender representation and academic leadership in Nigeria.

The University of Abuja community has expressed enthusiasm about her leadership, hoping for progressive reforms and enhanced academic standards under her tenure.

This appointment is expected to inspire more women to pursue leadership roles in academia and beyond.
