The convener of the group, Amb. Ishaq Msani, who disclosed this at a press briefing on Monday to Journalists, stated that they’ve studied the lawmaker closely by monitoring his progression and development in the House for more than a decade.
They explained that as critical stakeholders in the State, they’re throwing their weight behind the lawmaker because of his wealth of experience in legislative business, high powered connection and network within and outside the Kaduna State House of Assembly, at a time when the House needs real developmental presence.
” We wish to appeal to our leaders, stakeholders and all the new and returning Members-Elect to consider the choice of Hon. Chokoli in the best interest of the good people of our beloved State.
” The 10th assembly speakership of the Kaduna State House of Assembly should be purely on merit and the informal tradition of zoning should be prioritized in the interest of the state and its citizens,” The group stated.
According to them as a third term seasoned lawmaker with the requisite experience and strength of character to pilot the affairs of the House haven served as vice chairman committee on public account, chairman committee on Finance, Budget and Planning, Appropriation and Implementation and currently the Majority Leader of the House, he has used the position to personally facilitate various trainings and empowerment programmes for his people, assist the current members in securing most of the constituency projects/programmes they have undertaken, as well as sustain the party in Zaria LGA, Zone 1 and the state at large.
He maintained that,” It behoves on the leadership of the All-Progressives Congress and the good people of our the state, to ensure that it’s post-election choices and direction reflect the urgency of sustainability in line with the Sustain manifesto of the Governor-Elect.
