Street-pop singer Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, suffered defeat by disqualification in his celebrity boxing rematch against Nollywood actor Charles Okocha on Friday evening at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The highly anticipated bout, branded “Unfinished Business,” was intended to settle scores from their controversial first encounter—which Okocha had long contested was unfairly awarded in Portable’s favour.

The contest descended into chaos early in the opening round, with the bout devolving into a wrestling-style scuffle that required the referee’s repeated intervention to separate the combatants. Security personnel and bodyguards were ultimately compelled to step in as tensions escalated.

When the bell signalled the end of the round, Portable abruptly exited the ring and refused to return—prompting jeers from spectators, including those in the VIP section who had turned out in numbers for the grudge match.

Although officials persuaded the singer to make a brief return, he was subsequently disqualified, handing victory to Okocha.

Ahead of the fight, an introspective Portable had told reporters backstage while holding his son: “I am not happy, but I want God to make me happy and my family.”

The outcome marks a significant reversal for the singer, who had triumphed in their initial bout and confidently declared during the final weigh-in that he remained the superior fighter.
