Police arraign woman, 36, over alleged stealing

The Police in Lagos on Tuesday, arraigned a 36-year-old woman, Oluwakemi Adegoke, in a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court over alleged stealing property valued N225,000.

The defendant, whose address is unknown, is standing trial on a count charge of stealing.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The prosecutor, Insp Ayodele Adeosun told the court that the defendant committed the offence on May 20, at No 4, Salem Str., Aradagun, Badagry, Lagos.

Adeosun said that the defendant allegedly stole property valued at N225, 000, property of Mrs Toyin Adewusi, the complainant.

The offence, he said contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos state, 2015.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr N A Layeni granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200, 000 each with one surety in like sum.

Layeni adjourned the case until June 28, for mention. (NAN
