Garba who spoke to journalists in Namnai while awarding the scholarship to the children said his decision to offer the scholarship was to assist the children of his friends who are dead.

“This scholarship I offered to the twenty five of them covered a complete primary and secondary schools education.

I have paid everything from primary to secondary school,  I did this to provide relief to their mothers who struggled to feed them” he said.

He hinted that his friends who died some years ago left so many children whose fate to acquire education was not guaranteed.

“My commitment to human capital development is second to none,  i am sure that the award of this scholarship would in the future be of help to them, the community and Taraba state at large” he added.

He stressed that each time he goes to visit the  families of his late friends he usually think of the future of the children.

One of the beneficiary,  who spoke on behalf of others thanked the philanthropist over the kind gestures, adding that they will continue to pray to Allah to keep him in good health.
