The Kaduna South Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senator-elect, Barr Sunday Marshall Katung, has disclosed that they have reports of some stakeholders that have been approached to compromise the Saturdays elections in their areas of operations.
Katung disclosed this in a statement he personally signed and issued to newsmen on Thursday in Kaduna.
He noted that the reports have been submitted to the party for investigation adding that maximum vigilance will be deployed to prevent or deter any such act if contemplated by anyone.
“Every stakeholder is enjoined to give regular and on-the-spot updates to the situation room on their various polling units,” Katung said, adding that a call center number will be provided in due course,” he stated.
“In our quest to provide purposeful leadership to the good people of our state, we call on all stakeholders to make necessary sacrifices of time, energy and resources from voting until results are announced. If need be, kindly prepare to be away from the comfort of your house for at least 48 hours when we will cast our votes, protect our votes and escort our votes to the appropriate authorities for entry and announcements.
“Finally, please note that there should be no amount of intimidation or provocation that will make you lose your cool and give the agents of destabilization the opportunity to have their way.
“I look forward to celebrating this victory with each and everyone of you as we go into the gubernatorial and State Assembly Elections, ” Katung added.
