At 60, some men count their years; others measure their impact. For Paul Mumeh, the story is unmistakably one of remarkable impact, enduring relevance, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
Over the decades, Paul Mumeh has carved an enviable niche as a consummate journalist, accomplished publicist, and strategic communicator. His professional journey reflects an uncommon blend of intellectual rigour, integrity, and dedication to service.

Wike’s Abuja revolution: Three years of unprecedented transformation

From his distinguished days as Political Editor of the old Daily Times of Nigeria Plc to his role as Deputy Editor (Politics) at Daily Independent Newspapers, he demonstrated a profound understanding of Nigeria’s political landscape and earned widespread respect within the media industry.
I first met Mumeh, whom I fondly call “Oga Paul,” in the early days of the Fourth Republic at the old Daily Times of Nigeria Plc. He was a relentless worker, meticulous in his craft, and exceptionally generous with his knowledge, particularly in the demanding fields of political reporting and news analysis. He played a significant role in shaping my journalism practice, political understanding, and professional engagements.
His transition from journalism to public service was both seamless and impactful. As Chief Press Secretary to Senator David Mark, GCON, during his tenure as President of the 6th and 7th Senate, Paul brought professionalism, discipline, and strategic insight to one of the nation’s most demanding communication offices.

He further distinguished himself as Principal Special Assistant to Dr. Samuel Ortom, where he contributed immensely to governance and public engagement in Benue State. His rich experience also found expression in his role as Media Adviser to Senator Chimaroke Nnamani, MD, FACOG, where his political communication skills once again came to the fore.
Today, as Principal Private Secretary to the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, GCON, and Publisher of Radarrnews.com, Paul continues to shape narratives, influence public discourse, and mentor the next generation of media professionals.
Beyond his impressive résumé lies an even greater man. Paul Mumeh is humility personified—a gentleman in every sense of the word. He is approachable, dependable, and remarkably grounded despite his many accomplishments. A natural team player, he possesses the rare ability to connect effortlessly with people from all walks of life. His warmth, loyalty, and exceptional interpersonal skills have endeared him to colleagues, associates, and friends alike.
Integrity remains the cornerstone of his life and career. In an era where values are often tested, Paul has consistently stood tall, guided by honesty, moral uprightness, and an abiding sense of duty. His life exemplifies the timeless truth that true greatness is built not merely on achievement, but on character.
As he celebrates this diamond milestone, we honour not just his years, but his legacy—a legacy of professionalism, service, friendship, and honour. His contributions to journalism, politics, governance, and public communication have left indelible marks that will endure for generations.
Happy 60th Birthday, Paul Mumeh. May the years ahead bring greater fulfilment, robust health, and even more accomplishments. Nigeria is richer for your service, and all who know you are better for your friendship.
