It said Fubara’s collaboration with Asari would compliment the efforts of the security agencies in curbing in security on the road, which has become haven for kidnappers and other criminal elements.

MOSIEND, in a statement issued in Port Harcourt yesterday by its national spokesman, Comrade Charles Omusuku, appealed to the governor to dialogue with the former Niger Delta militant, to further understand the dynamics around his security outfit in the state

Describing Fubara as a peace maker, the Ijaw group appealed to Fubara to see the partnership as a tool for the unity, safety and progress of the state

The statement reads in part: “Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Alhaji Asari Dokubo are illustrious Smsons we respect and loved them and believe that the Ijaws and Rivers State will benefit a lot if they can work together.

“Today by God’s grace the Ijaw man is in the saddle of leadership of the State and every other tribe is expecting a lot of democratic dividends and we shouldn’t give them less.

“The unity and cooperation of all Ijaws to the success of Gov Siminialaye Fubara is vital and we must tolerate and manage our sentiment in issues of this nature”.

“Governor Fubara who we know is a man of peace and would not wants anything to endanger Rivers citizens under his watch.”

The group insisted that the collaboration between the two Ijaw leaders would add tremendous value to the security architecture of the state.

The statement said: “The Degema-Emuohua road which also host the satellite campus Rivers State University (RSU) had been a notorious play ground for armed robbery, kidnappers and assassins, leading to the death of countless innocent Nigerians, such that the security agencies even find it difficult to contend with them at some point until the intervention of the Asari Dukobo security outfit.

“We as MOSIEND consider the security outfit established by a prominent Ijaw leader, Alhaji Mujahid Asari Dokubo is to compliment the security agencies in curbing insecurity within the Emuoha/Degema axis and other parts of the country.

“The singular move by Alhaji Mujahid Asari Dokubo should be applauded from all quarters at least it’s for the general good and safety of our people”.

“The statement further noted that Alhaji Dokubo security outfit was not formed to cause chaos, but promoting peace and safety of the lives and property.”
