The second phase of ticket sales for the Paris 2024 Olympics has begun.Four million people have registered for the draw for this phase, where 1.5 million tickets are available.
Tickets are set to go on sale for what are being dubbed as the “most prestigious” sessions for the first time, including the 100 metres finals in athletics at the Stade de France, swimming finals at La Défense Arena and the basketball final at Arena Bercy.
Paris 2024 President Tony Estanguet, claimed the first phase of ticket sales was “successful”, despite some criticism.A third ticket sales phase is scheduled for the end of 2023, and is set to cover 3.5 million tickets.
From the second quarter of 2024, organisers are set to offer ticket holders who do not wish to use them the opportunity to resell tickets through its secure platform and at their original value.
Meanwhile, tickets for the Paris 2024 Paralympics are expected to go on sale later this year, with no draw in place and the 3.5 million tickets all on sale individually.
In total 3.25 million tickets were sold in the first phase of sales in three-session “Make Your Games” packs.
