The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abdulahi Ganduje, has called upon party leaders in Ondo State to unite in their efforts to secure victory in the upcoming governorship election on November 16.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is the APC’s candidate for this election.
Ganduje made this appeal during the South-West APC Governors’ Forum stakeholders meeting held on Sunday in Akure. He highlighted the presence of prominent party figures from both the region and the national level, emphasizing their commitment to the election.
“I am heartened by the turnout of party leaders at this meeting,” Ganduje stated, encouraging attendees to move past any previous disagreements from the primary elections and to rally behind the party’s candidate.
“Our aim is to assure you that the party stands firmly behind you, with all national stakeholders working together to ensure a successful electoral outcome in Ondo State.
“We are here to inspire and support you, as achieving success in this election is a critical objective. We anticipate a 90 percent turnout in the upcoming election. It is essential to identify those eligible to vote in each polling unit. We are confident that Tinubu is the premier leader we have,” he affirmed.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu also expressed his satisfaction with the unity observed within the party in Ondo State. He praised the aspirants from the April 20 primary for their sportsmanship and urged them to come together for the APC’s success in the November election.
Ekiti State Governor Abiodun Oyebanji urged stakeholders to focus on ensuring the victory of the party’s candidate, noting that this election marks the first in President Bola Tinubu’s region.
In his remarks, Aiyedatiwa thanked the leaders for their support and assured them that all suggestions made during the meeting would be taken into consideration.
