He said the appointment was a reflection of Suleiman’s unwavering dedication and contributions towards promoting and protecting the interests of the North and Nigeria as a whole, during his time with the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG).

In a statement made available to journalists on Thursday, the National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, described Suleiman’s appointment as well deserved.

Okwu said as the spokesman of the Coalition of Northern Groups, Suleiman had demonstrated clear capacity to promote and defend common interests of the North, as well as build bridges towards fostering a united nation.

“We heartily felicitate with our brother, Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, on his well deserved appointment as the spokesman of the Northern Elders’ Forum. The NEF couldn’t have made any better choice.

“We say this because Abdul-Azeez Suleiman is a bridge builder, a firm believer in the unity of Nigeria and a promoter of Northern interests.

“He approaches issues with boldness, courage, objectivity and selflessness. He is no doubt the right person to speak for the elite Northern group.
