NPC Updates Media  On 2023 Census in  Jigawa

The National Population Commission (NPC), has engaged media executives and reporters in Jigawa state on the current update for 2023 population and housing census exercise.

Speaking during the meeting, held at Federal Secretariat Dutse, the Jigawa stata Director National Population Commission Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmed Iro, explained that, the objective of the meeting is to update the media executives on the status of preparations for the census and the next steps forward in the light of the postponement.

The director maintained that, the process and systems put in place for the census are being currently reviewed to determine what needs to be done to ensure that the preparation do not become obsolete for the exercise.

According to him, the commission had carried out massive advocacy and publicity for 2023 census at national and state levels, media campaign was intensified while collaboration with stakeholders was strengthened through the inauguration of census publicity committees at all levels.

The director then, call for practicing journalist to assist the commission to create awareness for the success of the exercise in the next schedule days.

The Director however commended Jigawa state government support and cooperation for the exercise which he described as very encouraging.
