Association of Northern Political Correspondent Forum (ANPCF) has faulted the comment made by one Ibrahim Gidado concerning the chances of Hon Tajudeen Abbas emerging as the next Speaker of the National Assembly.

ANPCF said Gidado, the convener of the National Consciousness Movement, has launched a campaign against Abbas’ emergence as the next Speaker of the National Assembly, describing.
In a statement issued by the chairman of the forum, Chris Alu, in Abuja, described Gidado’s activities as a joke adding that he is not a member-elect, but only seeking attention.

The statement said Gidados statement should be discarded and dumped in a waste bin.

ANPCF described Gidado as a humorist whose words should not be considered because he is looking for relevance and daily bread.

ANPCF insisted that since Gidado is not a House of Representatives member, nor a member-elect, Nigerians should ignore him.
Gidado lacks the will to mobilise Honourable members against Abbas, who has a track record and has been adjudged as a competent Nigerian lawmaker that should be the next Speaker of the 10th assembly.

ANPCF said after making an effort through his cheap and conny ways to get the attention of Hon Abbas, Gidado had now resorted to campaign of calumny against the respected lawmaker who is now the darling of the members-elect of the 10th assembly.

Abbas is focused and determined on what he is doing now and will never be distracted by the likes of Gidado.

The statement added that Gidado is not a caliber of person to be reckoned with and will never be because of his attitudes.

“Therefore the public should not consider Gidado’s statement because it is empty and issued out of envy and desperation,” ANPCF said.
According to ANPCF, just like any other lawmaker of the 10th Assembly, Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila has the right to support any candidate of his choice.

“Therefore, Gidado need not to threaten anyone for canvassing support for a competent member to be the next speaker,” ANPCF said adding that henceforth, they will match Gidado word for word, action by action

“We know Gidado’s antics because we’ve carried out investigations concerning the lifestyle he just ventured into.
“We will frustrate Gidado’s effort this time around because he is working hard to de-market a credible candidate,” ANPCF added.
