According to Ben Shemang, the Chairman of the Publicity Committee, the late traditional ruler passed away on June 14, 2024, after a remarkable 58-year reign. He is widely recognized as the longest-serving monarch in Northern Nigeria.

“Late Dr. Mallam Tagwai Sambo (OFR) served as the chief of the Moro’a people in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State from 1936 to 2024,” Shemang stated.

The procession will begin at 6:00 am, with the body being transported from the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) Permanent site to the Manchok Township Square in Kaura L.G.G Kaduna State. The funeral rites will take place at 10:00 am, followed by the final interment at the Chief’s Palace.

Elanza News reported that the late monarch ascended to the traditional royal stool 58 years ago, solidifying his position as the longest-serving traditional ruler in Northern Nigeria.
