NITDA Wins “Maximising Impact Award” at Coursera’s 2024 Enterprise Achievement Ceremony**

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has been awarded the prestigious “Maximising Impact Award” during Coursera’s 2024 Outstanding Enterprise Customer Achievement Award Ceremony. The event took place at the 12th annual Coursera Conference held in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The award was received by the Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa, and celebrates the agency’s efforts in leveraging Coursera’s platform to create a significant and wide-reaching impact through its “One Million Developers and Skills” initiative. The initiative aims to equip Nigerians with critical technology and digital skills to boost employability and productivity.

NITDA has made considerable strides in empowering individuals across Nigeria, with over 8,000 learners enrolled in nearly 60,000 courses on the Coursera platform. The initiative has led to the completion of over 200,000 learning hours, greatly enhancing the digital capabilities of the Nigerian workforce. Through these efforts, NITDA has positioned itself as a catalyst for digital transformation and skill development, aiming to uplift the nation’s tech ecosystem.

Commenting on the achievement, Kashifu Inuwa expressed gratitude to Coursera for the recognition, stating that it reaffirms NITDA’s commitment to driving technology-based human capacity development across the country. “This award highlights the importance of bridging the skills gap in Nigeria, and we remain dedicated to providing world-class opportunities for our people to learn and grow,” he said.
