The Business Summit Group is aiming to secure over $100 billion in investment commitments at the International Investors Summit Nigeria 2026, scheduled for November in Abuja.

Group President Dato’ Dr. M. Haider Uzzaman announced the target on Tuesday during a press conference in the capital, revealing that the two-day event would convene investors and business leaders from more than 50 nations.

The summit, set for November 10–11 at the Abuja Continental Hotel’s Grand Ballroom, will focus on key sectors including oil and gas, renewable energy, technology, healthcare, agriculture, mining, infrastructure, education, artificial intelligence, and fintech.

According to Uzzaman, the initiative aims to forge direct investment linkages between international financiers and Nigerian enterprises, state governments, and investment agencies seeking foreign capital and global market access.

He called on medium and large-scale Nigerian companies, along with state governments possessing investment-ready projects, to register for participation.

“Investors favour projects with established track records for expansion and new production lines,” Uzzaman stated, adding that ventures capable of immediate execution would receive preferential attention.

He noted that 25 Nigerian companies and state governments took part in last year’s summit in Bangkok, Thailand, where delegates requested that the 2026 edition be hosted in Nigeria.

Uzzaman and the group’s Nigerian Vice President, Mr. Innocent Obande, disclosed that Plateau State had secured over $1 billion in investment commitments within the past six months following its Bangkok participation.

Uzzaman’s role in facilitating these opportunities was cited as a factor in his recent appointment as Special Adviser on Investment to Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang.

Registration has officially opened for companies, state governments, and investment agencies seeking one-on-one meetings with participating investors, the organisers confirmed.

They further revealed that Liberian President Joseph Boakai Sr. has expressed interest in attending, while President Vit Jedlička of the Republic of Liberland has confirmed his participation with a delegation.

Governor Mutfwang was described as a strong advocate of the summit.

Expected investor delegations will represent the United States, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, Turkey, Middle Eastern and GCC nations, as well as Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, and Australia.

The press briefing was attended by Mr. Abdul Azeez J. Salawudeen, Director and Chief Financial Officer of Standard Insurance Consultants Ltd., the group’s Nigerian partner; Mr. Abid Haider, Vice President of Strategy; and Ambassador Bello Ringhim, former Nigerian Ambassador to Malaysia and Director of COPENHAGEN, Nigeria.
