The Nigeria Police Force has officially extended the deadline for tinted glass permits to August 12, 2025, in light of significant public feedback regarding the digital application process.
Inspector General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has approved this extension to allow for further improvements to the system, ensuring it remains “user-friendly, secure, and accessible to all.”
In a Friday statement, Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi remarked that this extension provides the NPF with ample time to implement “additional enhancements and refinements” to both physical and online application methods. “The Force wishes to affirm that it has not ignored the voices of Nigerians,” the statement noted, emphasising the importance of public input in ongoing evaluations.
The NPF stressed that the only official platform for permit applications is [www.possap.gov.ng](http://www.possap.gov.ng) and cautioned against unauthorised charges. Citizens are encouraged to report any improper or concealed fees, as well as extortion encountered during the application or biometric capturing stages, directing complaints to the police hotline at 09169967000.
This extension aligns with the police’s commitment to simplifying verification procedures and minimising delays in the permit approval process. The NPF is dedicated to “public safety, digital innovation, and continuous improvement in service delivery,” thanking Nigerians for their “cooperation and patience” during these ongoing reforms.
Motorists are reminded that they now have until August 12 to regularise their tinted glass permits before enforcement commences. The NPF assures the public that this extra time will be utilised to address concerns and improve system efficiency.
