The Nigeria Comedy Awards (NCA) has unveiled the list of nominees for its highly-anticipated 2023 edition, celebrating the remarkable accomplishments within Nigeria’s thriving comedy industry.

The comprehensive list, accessible via NCA’s official social media channels, features prominent names such as Basketmouth, Mercy Johnson, Tomama, Broda Shaggi, Real Warri Pikin, Kenny Blaq, Taaooma, Sabinus, Battle on Bukka Street, Mr. Macaroni, Bovi, My Flatmates, Helen Paul, Passport, Ajebo, Success, Jude OC, Bimbo Ademoye, Yaw, Kirikiru, Powski, Solomon VI, Dada Adekola, The Johnsons, Josh2Funny, Charles Inojie, and other influential figures and productions that have left a lasting impact on Nigeria’s comedy landscape. These accolades span across various categories, including Stand-up Comedy, TV Series, Radio, Online Skits, Movies, Actors, Animation, and more.

Wole Adenuga, Co-Executive Producer of the Nigeria Comedy Awards, expressed excitement about the impending event and the heightened anticipation among both nominees and their fan base, both locally and globally. He highlighted the event’s partnership with brands such as Indomie Noodles, Airtel, Malta Guinness, Peak Milk, and Fanta, underscoring their commitment to ensuring the event’s resounding success. Adenuga also emphasized the ‘Revelation of the Year’ Category, with Layi Wasabi and Soso as contenders, with the winner not only receiving a prestigious plaque but also a substantial cash prize of N1,000,000.

The inaugural Nigeria Comedy Awards is set to take place on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at the Eko Conference Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos State. The event will host 1,000 attendees and be broadcast to millions worldwide through wapTV (DStv 262, StarTimes 116, GOtv 129, FreeTV 751, and Play 275). The awards ceremony has garnered extensive media support from renowned organizations like Filmhouse Cinemas, AIT Network, Royal Roots TV, Pop Central, African Movie Channel, Rave TV, Royal Roots Cinemas, Smooth 98.1FM, Goldmyne TV, Kennis 104.1FM, Royal Roots 107.1FM, and numerous other media outlets
