NGO Holds Annual Thanksgivings Celebration,Call For Unity

The Non- governmental Organisation, Jam’iyyar Matar Arewa under the leadership of Hajiya Rabi Musa Saulawa has called on the Unity of women , especially northern Nigeria.

She made these called during it’s annual thanksgiving party to appreciate God for bringing them to the end of the year.

The party had women of the Organisation, children of the school and other invited guests present, wearing their dancing shoes, dressed in colourful attire.

Speaking during the occasion, the President explained that the celebration is an annual thanksgiving event for the members of the association which is 60 years old and the orphanage which is 58 years old and the school which was founded in 1974.

According to her, the association was created by their mothers, as a way to give voice to the voiceless among women in the North as well as empower and support the women educationally, physically, financially, and socially.

Hajiya Rabi Musa Saulawa called on women to unite on one common ground in solving their problems and assist themselves to achieve their dreams.

She urged well to do individuals and the government to continue to support the Organisation, particularly the orphanage which currently has seventeen babies, among other children.

On her part, the Coordinator Kaduna North, Jam’iyyar Matar Arewa, Hajiya Fatima Ahmed Kodowoli explained that apart from the end of year celebration, they were also here to celebrate the victory of the return of their National President, Hajiya Rabi Musa Saulawa and that of their Public Relations Officer, Hajiya Daharatu Ahmed Aliyu who emerged as the Secretary of Zone A, Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ.

She called on parents to bring in their children and wards to attend the primary and secondary schools as a way of supporting the Organisation. Especially male children.

The event featured paper presentations by the children, dancing session by the National President and her members, along side the invited guests, dance by the children, among others.
