The Ministry of Interior has unveiled an innovative online platform dedicated to managing citizenship and business services.
In a statement released on Saturday, Magdalene Ajani, the ministry’s permanent secretary, explained that this digital platform aims to simplify the application and processing procedures associated with citizenship and business-related services.
Ajani highlighted that the initiative is expected to accelerate processing times and enhance the overall user experience. She noted that this development is part of the ministry’s ongoing reform efforts to foster transparency, improve operational efficiency, and significantly elevate service delivery to the public.
“The public, businesses, and other stakeholders can access the platform through the following official channels: Ministry of Interior Website: interior.gov.ng; Direct Portal Access: candb.interior.gov.ng. For support or inquiries, please contact candb-support@interior.gov.ng,” the statement indicated.
The Ministry of Interior is dedicated to establishing a more efficient, transparent, and secure framework for citizenship administration, while continuously advancing service delivery through digital transformation.
Recently, the ministry has introduced several initiatives. In February, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, announced plans for the introduction of landing and exit cards, which visitors will be required to complete prior to entering the country.
He emphasised the necessity of harmonising the immigration data centre to provide integrated solutions for decisions related to migration into Nigeria. This harmonisation is expected to prevent approvals from being granted without real-time clearance from Interpol, the criminal records system, and all relevant background-checking agencies.
