Universal Acceptance represents a foundational requirement for a truly inclusive internet, ensuring that all valid domain names and email addresses—regardless of script, language, or character length—function seamlessly across all internet-enabled applications, devices, and systems .

According to the Commission, the event will serve as a platform for knowledge sharing, stakeholder engagement, and collaborative strategy development to accelerate UA adoption within Nigeria’s digital landscape .

Industry observers note that advancing Universal Acceptance is pivotal to enhancing digital accessibility, spurring innovation, and expanding participation in the digital economy, particularly for underserved and emerging communities.

Participants are expected to explore practical pathways for embedding UA principles into digital infrastructure and services as part of broader efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s digital economy.

The NCC reaffirmed its commitment to driving initiatives that support digital inclusion and ensure equitable access to the benefits of the internet for all Nigerians.
