Ahead of National Assembly election,on Monday,The Director General of the APC Support Groups (AASG)An umbrella body of the ruling party’s supporters ,Engr. Kilani Muhammad said about 73 senators behind Senator Abdul-Aziz Yari as the 10th Senate president.
Addressing journalists in Abuja yesterday, Kilani said we are all Nigerians and we are not against our Southern brothers and sisters, but fairness and equity must come to play.
He said the president is from the south, the Attorney general and the minister of justice are all from the south. Those are the two arms of the government already in the south. What we are saying now, the remaining one arm of the government, Senate President should come to the north.
“We brought 5.5 million votes from the north while the whole south west gave us 2.2 million votes, south east gave us 40,000 votes, south south where Akpabio is claiming that he wants to become a senate president came from, brought only 700,000 votes, from his own state Akwa Ibom, his own state gave us 160,000 votes.
“While his counter part,Abdulaziz Yari brought almost 1000,000 from his state Zamfara. We must come together and unit and also be our brothers keeper. We have to vote for Yari so that there is balance equation in the three arms of the government, if they want to be very fair to us.
Speaking further, he said youth will have time to engage in drugs again and as creations of jobs Awaiting for them because we are in a renew hope government.
According to him, “The youth are not been carried along, so where is there future for the innocent youth . Citing that when the Prophet Muhammad Saw and Jesus where handed mantel of leadership when they are youths.
“We are going to give you a copy of the renew hope agenda of this government, so that all of you will look at it and follow up”
