A 42-year-old man, Victor Adenegan was on Wednesday docked in an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan, for allegedly sodomising two men.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the defendant, Adenegan who resides in Moniya area in Ibadan.charged with sodomy and attempted sodomy.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs O. O. Ogunkanmi, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

Ogunkanmi said one of the sureties must be a relation of the defendant, while the second surety must be a landed property owner with survey and building plans registered with Oyo State government.

She adjourned the matter until May 2 for hearing.

Earlier, the Police prosecutor, Insp Sikiru Opaleye told the court that the defendant on Jan. 14, 2021, at his resident allegedly sodomised two men aged 20 and 28

The prosecutor also alleged that the defendant attempted to sodomise a have 28 and 40 year old man.

Opaleye said the offence contravened the provisions of section 214 and 215 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.

NAN reports that if the defendant is found guilty, the punishment is 14 years imprisonment and seven years imprisonment on section 215. (NAN)
