The presiding pastor of Masters Place International, Korede Komaiya, has urged Nigerians to prioritise the welfare of their parents by placing them on a regular allowance, describing parental blessings as vital to destiny fulfilment.
Komaiya made the appeal in a recently released video message, where he stressed the spiritual and moral importance of caring for one’s parents while they are still alive.
According to the cleric, “If you have mother alive, father alive, you have gold mines alive. Parental blessings are critical.” He advised Nigerians to ensure that something tangible leaves them for their parents consistently.
He said, “Let your parents enjoy the fruit of their labour. Place them on salary even if it’s ₦2,000 — not comme ci comme ça. Even when they don’t need it, do it. It is the covenant you’re practising.”
Komaiya also urged children to be attentive to the needs of their parents and show forgiveness for past mistakes. “We all make mistakes. Can you please forgive and be the fulfilment of their dream?” he asked.
Highlighting what he described as misplaced priorities, the pastor warned against neglecting parents during their lifetime only to spend huge sums on funeral ceremonies. “Don’t let mosquito kill your parents and you spend ₦7 million on their burial,” he said.
He added that making parents happy remains a sacred obligation. “You owe your parents one thing — let them die happy. Let them thank God for having you. It is a major covenant secret,” Komaiya concluded.
