Kaduna Labour Party caretaker committee chairman, Elder Yusuf Solomon Danbaki, has made an appeal to all party members for unity and a cessation of internal conflicts.

He urged members to avoid creating divisions and work together for the success of the party across Nigeria.

“I call for a ceasefire in both words and actions. There should be no ‘us against them’ mentality,” Danbaki said in a statement on Thursday in Kaduna.

“We are one Labour Party. While changes are necessary, no one will be discriminated against based on past conduct, though future misconduct will not be tolerated.”

Danbaki acknowledged recent challenges within the party but affirmed that the decisions taken by the National Executive Council, led by Peter Obi and Governor Alex Otti, were aimed at strengthening the party.

“These decisions may not please everyone, but they are necessary for the party’s healing and future success. There is no victor or vanquished—only a stronger Labour Party committed to democracy.”

As the local government elections approach, Danbaki urged members to unite and focus on collective victory. He called for support for the National Caretaker Committee Chairperson, Senator Nenadi Usman, stating, “Our collective goal is more important than individual interests.”

He emphasized the importance of mutual respect and solidarity within the party. “I urge each of you to extend a hand of friendship. Politics is about people, not offices. Disagreements are inevitable, but they should not divide us. We must stand united to face external challenges,” he concluded.
