Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture has reaffirmed its focus on using entertainment to drive trade, aiming for N5 billion in sales at the 2025 Lagos Tourism Fair.

This initiative is in collaboration with the Naija Brand Chick (NBC) trade fair.

Idris Aregbe, Special Adviser to Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tourism, Arts, and Culture, reaffirmed this in a statement on Tuesday.

The fair will take place from April 11 to 13 at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

He stated that the government’s commitment to supporting local businesses and entrepreneurs is evident through various initiatives.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that this marks the second time Lagos State is collaborating with the NBC brand.

“The essence of tourism lies in buying, selling, and landscape development while boosting the local economy and fostering cultural exchange.

“Our administration prioritises job creation, poverty reduction, SME growth, and bridging inequality. Initiatives like this help us achieve these goals.

“This edition will be bigger and better, as we have worked tirelessly to refine the experience and maximise impact.

“Beyond the physical marketplace, we are introducing an online deals spot to enhance accessibility,” he said.

Aregbe emphasised that the government is ensuring the trade fair will be a space where people can shop smartly, save costs, and access quality products.

He also hinted at the availability of discounted shopping opportunities for buyers.

The founder of NBC, Nelly Agbogu, expressed excitement about the event, highlighting Lagos’ commercial strength and its impact on her trade exhibitions.

“Lagos provides the perfect landscape for business growth. This fair proves that with the right support, dreams can be actualised.

“We are thrilled to create another groundbreaking event that empowers SMEs and transforms lives.

“Thanks to the Lagos State Government for its deliberate commitment to small business growth,” she said.

Lagos Tourism and NBC are raising the bar by focusing on increasing sales, strengthening vendor-customer relationships, and cementing the fair’s status as a top business event in Nigeria.

New activities will be integrated, including business master.classes, interactive workshops, and financial inclusion initiatives, offering vendors access to grants and support.

Beyond business, the event will feature guest appearances from influencers and celebrities, cultural performances, dance showcases, giveaways, and raffle draws to boost sales and visibility.

The Fair anticipates N5 billion in sales, over 220 vendors, and 75,000 attendees in three days. (NAN)
