The mastermind, Sheriff Owolabi, long sought by the police for his involvement in a fatal robbery, was finally captured.
Owolabi’s gang previously robbed and fatally assaulted Temitope in Ojodu Berger, Lagos.
Owolabi’s confession led to the arrest of Ibrahim Gambo in the Ibafo area of Ogun.
The investigation revealed that the stolen vehicle was taken to Ibadan and sold to a suspected receiver from Cotonou, Benin Republic.
Owolabi confessed to multiple car snatchings in Lagos, all of which were reportedly sold to the same buyer known as Alhaji from Cotonou.
Another accomplice, Sheriff Olakunle, was apprehended in Mushin for aiding in selling stolen phones.
The suspects guided the police to the Point of Sale (POS) operator who facilitated the cashing of money transferred from the victim’s account.
