Stakeholders of the Labour Party in Igbere Ward B, Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, have reaffirmed their backing for Governor Alex Otti and vowed to secure victory for the party in upcoming elections.

The commitment followed a stakeholders’ meeting and courtesy visit to Dr. David Anyaele, Chairman of the Abia State Disability Commission and leader of Igbere Ward B stakeholders.

In a communiqué issued after the meeting, the group praised Governor Otti for what they termed purposeful leadership and developmental strides across the state. They highlighted ongoing and completed projects in Igbere and Bende, including the flag-off of the Umunnato Specialist Hospital and the commissioning of the Okafia and Umuisi Primary Healthcare Centres.

The stakeholders also commended Bende Local Government Chairman, Uwabunkeonye Bassey, for his dedication to grassroots development and support for Igbere Ward B.

The meeting congratulated Dr. Chima Anyaso on his emergence as the Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency and pledged full support for his campaign. Similarly, they applauded Nnamdi Ibekwe, member representing Bende North State Constituency, for his effective representation and efforts to attract development, while congratulating him on his re-nomination as the party’s candidate.

The group expressed appreciation to the Abia State Chairman of the Labour Party for fostering an enabling environment for the party’s primaries, reaffirming loyalty to his leadership. A vote of confidence was passed on Dr. Anyaele for promoting unity, engagement, and collaboration among party members in the ward.

Residents of Igbere Ward B were praised for their peaceful conduct and support during the recently concluded primaries. The stakeholders pledged to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure, intensify engagement with community groups and eligible voters, and encourage voter registration ahead of future elections.

They resolved to work collectively to ensure electoral victories for all Labour Party candidates in forthcoming polls and maintain the party’s stronghold in Igbere Ward B and the wider Bende area.

Attendees included Councillor James Ezeikpe (representing Igbere Ward B); Elder Okechukwu Uko; Ezeogo Emeka Onuoha; Imo Mascot Obike; Okor Izuka; David Onyeamaeke; Maxwell Kalu (Labour Party Chairman, Igbere Ward B); Gideon Kalu (Chairman, Abia Arise, Igbere Ward B); Hanna Micah (Chairperson, Onuogu Women); and other stakeholders and community leaders.
