Engr. Kailani Muhammad, the Director General of the Confederation of All Progressive Congress (APC) Support Groups, has emphasized that the commitment of Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), to the development of the oil sector will leave an enduring footprint for the next generation.

Recall that President Bola Tinubu has renewed the appointment of Malam Mele Kyari as the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

The appointment is effective from Friday, December 1, 2023.

Addressing newsmen in Abuja yesterday, Kailani expressed, “His commitment to the development of the sector will remain a footprint for generations to come as he continues to lead NNPCL.”

According to him, the extension of Mele Kyari’s tenure as the Group Chief Executive Officer clearly reflects President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s dedication to his renewed hope agenda, ensuring that competent individuals are retained in key positions for optimal results.

“We applaud Mr. President for not being swayed by dissident voices pushing for the replacement of Mele Kyari with a stooge to serve their interests,” Kailani added.

Highlighting Mele Kyari’s achievements, Kailani stressed their positive impact on Nigeria’s economic development, particularly in the petroleum industry and the Oil and Gas sector.

“We celebrate this moment not just because Mele Kyari remains in the leadership role, but because he has become a pivotal figure in Nigeria’s Oil and Gas sector,” Kailani concluded.
