The Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Chairmanship aspirant, Hon Douglas Edet has called on his party members in the FCT to keep hope alive as the party is set to take over the area councils.
Edet said the emergence of Labour party Senator representing and the House of Representatives member is a dream come true adding that they must work hard to ensure that the party perform
Speaking to Elanzanews after they endorsed the leadership of the National Chairman of the Labour Party Barr Julius Abure, Edet said he knows the problem of AMAC, adding that six to seven out of the 12 wards in AMAC don’t have good development.
He said the cost of living in FCT is very expensive adding that he will ensure he provides mass housing and industries to engage the youths.
Edet, who said a tile company can engage many youth especially women, said: “If I pick this ticket and win the election, we can focus on the rural areas.
“We can make Kurudu as rich as Maitama if we can provide infrastructure. I have the solution in AMAC.
“I believe that the Labour Party is a party for all. We don’t operate by tribalism. I believe I have the masses and whatever agreement I reach with my people, I will be able to fulfill it.
“Every community will channel their problem through their representatives, councilors and people I will appoint.
“Our representatives are performing. We know the solutions to the FCT problems. The right channel for this FCT is Labour Party,” Edet said, adding that the rally in support of Abure was a solidarity visit to their National headquarters to tell him they are with him and will do everything possible to ensure that there is dialogue and peace in the Labour party till the next election.
“I am telling the people of AMAC and members of our party not to lose hope. We started from somewhere and we’ve moved forward. The confidence they give me, they will never regret it,” Edet added.
