The Special Assistant to the Karu Local Government Chairman, Mr. Danladi Asawu Efuna, yesterday demonstrated his commitment to uplifting vulnerable members of society by awarding scholarships to orphans and less privileged pupils of Leading Star Academy, Buzi, Panda Development Area.

Mr Danladi presented the scholarship awards using part of his first salary as Special Assistant to the Executive Chairman of Karu LGA, Barr. Abubakar Aliyu Madaki. He said that the initiative forms part of his personal efforts to support indigent pupils and promote education across the local community.

The pupils visibly excited, expressed profound gratitude to Mr. Danladi for the life-changing support and pledged to work diligently in their studies to make him proud.

The beneficiaries are:

1. Favour Danlami

2. Miracle V. Monday

3. Godiya Habu

4. Ekona Joseph

5. Isaiah Iliya

6. Sarah Yakubu and others

The scholarship offers much-needed relief to the beneficiaries, many of whom have struggled to keep up with school expenses. Community members described the gesture as a testament to Mr Danladi’s unwavering commitment to empowering young people and ensuring that financial hardship does not hinder their educational progress.

Speaking at the presentation, Mr Danladi said the initiative aligns with the vision of the Karu LGA Chairman, Barr. Abubakar Aliyu Madaki, who consistently advocates for supporting the less privileged and driving inclusive development. He encouraged the pupils to embrace the opportunity with seriousness, adding that education remains one of the most powerful tools for breaking cycles of poverty and securing a brighter future.
