In preparation for the commencement of the Mararaba flyover construction in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, the Executive Chairman of Karu LGA, Barr. Abubakar Aliyu Madaki, yesterday convened a sensitisation meeting aimed at enhancing community awareness and ensuring the smooth implementation of the project.

The meeting brought together market leaders, community representatives, and local government officials to deliberate on the project’s timeline and to strategise on ways to manage traffic flow and enforce safety measures during the period of construction.

Barr. Madaki highlighted the need for full cooperation from residents, traders, and transport operators. He said that community support would be crucial in minimising disruptions and ensuring the project is completed within schedule.

Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of the Nasarawa Urban Development Board, Engr. Muhammed Yahaya Wada, reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to addressing the long-standing traffic congestion in Mararaba. He stated that the flyover, once completed, would provide a lasting solution to the persistent gridlock that motorists experience daily.

Engr. Wada further assured stakeholders that the contractors have been adequately equipped with the machinery, personnel, and resources required to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe. He appealed to market leaders to fully cooperate with the construction team to ensure the smooth and successful execution of the project.

The Executive Chairman was accompanied by His Royal Highness, Pharmacist Luka Panya Baba, the Esu of Karu. Together, they expressed appreciation to the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, for his genuine dedication to infrastructural development and for approving the Mararaba flyover project. They described the initiative as a major step forward in improving mobility and boosting economic activities within the region.
