Held in Kamuru Ikulu, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, the grassroots tournament brought together teams from across the LGA, aiming to discover young talent and promote youth development through sports.

The tournament attracted large crowds and media coverage from outlets such as the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC), Salama Radio Kafanchan, and the SKP & EVENTS Facebook page. It was widely praised for its organization, security, and crowd management.

Founded by Hon. Rijo Shekari, a technocrat and agribusiness leader, the tournament is set to become an annual event.

Shekari described it as part of his broader vision to empower youth through sports and innovation.

“We witnessed raw talent and remarkable determination on display. This is just the beginning,” he said.

The final match between Livingstone Academy and Dynamite FC was tightly contested, with few clear scoring opportunities.

After a goalless 90 minutes, the game was decided by penalties. Livingstone Academy converted all their spot-kicks, while Dynamite FC missed two, securing the title and a ₦1 million cash prize for Livingstone.

The final drew a host of dignitaries, including Agwam Bajju II, Luka Kogi Yabwat; Sardauna Ikulu, Samaila Ashafa; Acting Agwam Ikulu, Dr. Anthony Ayasal; Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Prof. Bugong Benjamin; Vice Chairman of Zangon Kataf LGA, Hon. Godwin Dandaura; and several councillors.

Adding an international flair, football scouts and agents from Ivory Coast were also in attendance.

Despite challenges with venue preparation, transportation, and crowd control, the organizers described the event as a success and pledged improvements in future editions.
