The Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS), Comrade Jerry Adams, has hailed the ongoing education reforms in Kaduna State, citing tangible results from the inaugural TEAM ADDA Spelling Bee Competition for Zone One. This event, held on Saturday at the Federal University of Education in Zaria, showcased the remarkable talents of pupils and highlighted the positive impact of recent educational initiatives.
The spelling bee was organised to honour Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, and was convened by KADIRS’ Board Secretary and Legal Adviser, Barrister Aysha Ahmad Mohammad. The competition aimed to foster academic excellence, intellectual development, and healthy rivalry among schoolchildren across the state.
In his remarks, Adams emphasised the vital role of education in societal progression, underscoring how strategic government policies are enhancing public education in Kaduna. He praised Barrister Mohammad for her vision and dedication to nurturing young talents, noting that the event provided pupils with a platform to build confidence, hone their intellectual skills, and engage in merit-based competition.
“What stood out most was the confidence, brilliance, and poise displayed by the students, particularly those from public schools who emerged as winners. This is deeply encouraging and clearly demonstrates that the sustained efforts of the Kaduna State and Federal Governments to improve education are beginning to produce tangible outcomes,” Adams stated.
The KADIRS chairman further aligned the initiative with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the SUSTAIN Agenda of Governor Uba Sani. Both frameworks prioritise education, human capital development, and child welfare as essential components for sustainable growth.
Adams announced plans to extend the spelling bee competition to other regions of the state, with the next edition slated for the Southern Kaduna Senatorial Zone. He reiterated the Kaduna State Government’s commitment to ensuring equal access to quality education for all children, regardless of their socio-economic background, asserting that no child will be left behind in the ongoing educational reforms.
This event marks a significant milestone for Kaduna’s education system, reflecting a broader commitment to fostering a culture of academic excellence and empowering the youth. As the reforms take root, stakeholders remain optimistic about the future of education in Kaduna State, envisioning a generation of well-equipped students ready to contribute positively to society.
In summary, the successful outcome of the TEAM ADDA Spelling Bee serves as a testament to the effective implementation of educational policies in Kaduna, reinforcing the importance of active engagement in nurturing the next generation. The commitment shown by both the government and educational institutions sets a promising precedent for future initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of education across the state.
As Kaduna continues on this path of educational reform, the hope is that such initiatives will inspire similar programmes throughout Nigeria, fostering a national culture of academic excellence and sustainable development.
