The Kaduna State Security Council has issued a stern warning against the blockade of public roads by protesters while undertaking the clearance operation along the Gonin Gora axis of the Kaduna-Abuja Road, previously obstructed by commuters.
A statement released by overseeing Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, highlights the council’s stance against road blockades and the harassment of innocent citizens during protests.
Responding to reports of a bandit attack in Unguwan Auta of the Gonin Gora general area, Chikun LGA, protesters blocked the Gonin Gora axis of the Kaduna-Abuja Road on Thursday morning, impeding commuters’ passage along the route.
The Security Council, including key figures like Commissioner of Police Audu Ali, Director of Department of State Services Abdul Adamu Eneche, and Garrison Commander Brigadier General Muhammad Kana, along with the overseeing Commissioner of Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, led security forces to dismantle the roadblocks and restore access for motorists.
During engagements with community leaders, members of the Security Council expressed concerns over the disruption caused by road blockades, emphasizing the infringement on citizens’ rights and the hindrance to public utility usage.
As of the latest security update, citizens and motorists can now traverse the Gonin Gora axis of the Kaduna-Abuja Road without any hindrance.
