The elections are set to take place on Saturday, October 19, 2024, in all 23 Local Government Areas.

In a meeting held on Tuesday, KADSIECOM chairperson, Hajara Mohammed, unveiled the election timetable in the presence of representatives from political parties and concerned individuals.

According to Mohammed, the current council members, who were sworn into office on November 1, 2021, will conclude their three-year tenure on October 31, paving the way for the upcoming elections.

KAD-SIECOM, as the responsible body for organizing the elections, is tasked with overseeing the selection of chairpersons, vice-chairpersons, and councillors across the state. The announcement of the election date and the release of the election timetable align with the provisions of section 25(1) of the KAD-SIECOM Law 2024.

“The general public is hereby informed that the LGA council election will be held in Kaduna on Saturday, October 19, 2024, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.,” stated Mohammed.

“Today, on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, the commission has issued the election timetable.”

As part of the preparations, the chairperson emphasized that the 2024 election guidelines have also been made available to all concerned parties. Mohammed assured the stakeholders that KAD-SIECOM is fully prepared to conduct a smooth and transparent election on the designated date.
