Barr Adamu, a prominent figure within the party who previously served as an elected member in the Kaduna State House of Assembly and contested as an aspirant for the gubernatorial election primary in the 2019 general elections, submitted his resignation letter to the Chairman of Kukum Ward in Kaura Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State.

In his resignation letter, titled “Resignation of Membership,” dated May 21, 2024, Adamu expressed his decision to immediately leave the PDP.

The letter was also copied to the Local Government Area Chairman of PDP in Kaura LGA and the State Chairman of PDP, Kaduna State.

Adamu highlighted his reasons for leaving the party, stating, “It is evident to me that the same forces that contributed to the PDP’s failure in the past three gubernatorial elections in the state are still at work, seeking to impose their will on the party and predetermined outcomes on the forthcoming congresses, particularly concerning my people, with the use of members to validate the process.”

Adamu further expressed his concerns that such an outcome would not be in the best interest of his community and that his attempts to rectify the situation were met with resistance.

Consequently, Adamu felt compelled to depart from the party and is likely to announce a new chosen platform soon, where he will be moving with his teaming supporters.

Barr Adamu said he plans to consult with his political associates and relevant stakeholders to explore alternative platforms that will better serve the aspirations of their people.

This development, Elanza News reports that it marks a notable shift in the political landscape of Kaduna State, as a former key figure within the PDP chooses to seek new avenues for the advancement of his community’s interests.
