The Kaduna State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has called on the police and other security agencies to investigate reported attacks and vandalism involving its offices, support groups and vehicles across parts of the state.

The party, in a statement issued on Tuesday night by its Publicity Secretary, Sani Dan-Azare, also urged security agencies to probe alleged assaults and intimidation of its members and supporters and prosecute anyone found responsible based on credible evidence.

The APC said several claims and allegations had emerged from the incidents, urging the security agencies to independently examine every credible lead and evidence presented to them.

The party said Kaduna had made significant progress in moving away from the political, ethnic and religious tensions that had previously threatened the state’s stability.

It warned that such gains must not be undermined by violence, intimidation, vandalism or other unlawful acts.

“The party calls on the Nigeria Police Force and other relevant security agencies to promptly and impartially investigate the reported incidents,” the statement said.

It added that the authorities should “establish the circumstances surrounding them and take appropriate action against anyone found responsible”.

The APC also appealed to political parties, candidates and supporters across the state to conduct themselves responsibly and within the law.

The party said it remained committed to peaceful, lawful and issue-based political engagement.

It equally urged its members and support groups not to retaliate or resort to self-help.

“We urge our members and support groups across Kaduna State to remain calm, exercise maximum restraint and refrain from retaliation or self-help,” the party said.

The APC called on anyone with relevant information about the incidents to submit such evidence to the appropriate security agencies.

“No political contest is greater than the peace and security of Kaduna State,” the party said.

“Let the facts be established. Let due process prevail. Let the law take its course.”

The development comes amid heightened political activity in Kaduna ahead of the 2027 governorship election. The APC recently commenced its campaign, pledging an issue-based contest, while an earlier confrontation involving ADC supporters and security personnel has also heightened political tensions in the state.
