In a bid to address the pressing needs of Nigerian workers, the federal government has adjusted its proposition for the new minimum wage from N60,000 to N62,000.

This decision was reached during a crucial meeting held on Friday between representatives of the federal government and leaders of various labour unions, convened to discuss the impending minimum wage adjustments.

It was gathered that both parties engaged in thorough deliberations to find common ground on the matter.

However, despite the government’s revised offer, organized labour remains steadfast in advocating for a more substantial increase, putting forward a proposal of N250,000 as the desired minimum wage.

This development underscores the ongoing efforts to ensure fair and equitable compensation for Nigerian workers, amidst economic challenges and the need to address rising living costs across the nation.

As negotiations continue, stakeholders await further developments in the pursuit of a mutually beneficial resolution.
