The Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Honourable Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga is dead.

The death of the lawmaker filtered into the National Assembly on Tuesday evening.

She represents Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency of Ogun State. Late Hon. Onanuga is a member of the All Progressives Congress and a second term lawmaker who served as the Chairman of the House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development in the 9th Assembly.

At the inauguration of the 10th House of Representatives, she was appointed the Deputy Chief Whip, a position she held until her death.

She was born on December 2, 1965. She was aged 59.
