Speculation is rife that a cabinet reshuffle may be on the horizon in Jigawa State, following Governor Malam Umar Namadi’s unscheduled visit to the state government secretariat on Monday.

The governor’s impromptu tour, which took place around 11 a.m., revealed that many commissioners, permanent secretaries, and directors were absent from their posts a development that reportedly left him displeased.

Governor Namadi, who was accompanied by his security aides and media crew, moved from one ministry to another within the secretariat complex, only to find most offices locked and key officials unavailable.

During the visit, the governor voiced deep concern over the casual handling of public trust and stressed that the state cannot achieve meaningful development with such an attitude.

Governor Namadi, who consistently emphasizes trust and accountability in public service, appeared visibly serious and shocked by what he witnessed.

He lamented that his administration would not allow such behavior to sabotage its efforts toward building a prosperous and greater Jigawa State.

The governor, who had earlier signed a performance bond with all his political appointees, including members of the executive council, warned all public servants in the state to take their duties seriously before it becomes too late for them.

Observers believe the governor’s frustration during the visit was evidentmay signal an imminent cabinet reshuffle ahead of the 2027 general elections.
