A Nigerian cleric, Apostle Momo Promise of Zion Flames Prophetic and Intercessory Ministries, has called on the Federal Government to urgently investigate the recent wave of killings in Plateau, Kaduna and Zamfara states.

The pastor warned against politicising the attacks, stressing that innocent Nigerians continue to lose their lives daily across affected communities.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Apostle Promise said the violence transcends religious boundaries, insisting that both Christians and Muslims deserve to live in peace without fear.

“Human beings are dying every day. This is not a matter to be politicised at all,” he said. “People deserve to live in peace and not in fear.”

The cleric lamented what he described as the erosion of national unity, recalling a period after the civil war when the “One Nigeria” campaign dominated public discourse and encouraged unity among citizens.

“Where are the days when we preached One Nigeria? I remember growing up and watching the television filled with adverts of One Nigeria, putting our differences behind us,” he added.

He urged the government and stakeholders to revive national unity campaigns, noting that peaceful coexistence remains critical to the country’s survival.

The appeal follows a surge in violent attacks in parts of northern and central Nigeria, including recent gunmen assaults in Jos North, Plateau State, as well as reported cases of violence and abductions in Kaduna and Zamfara states.

Apostle Promise, whose message formed part of his Easter sermon, called for decisive action to address insecurity and rebuild trust among Nigerians.

The statement reflects growing concerns among religious leaders and citizens over persistent killings and displacement in troubled regions.
