As Nigeria marked its 64th Independence Anniversary, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SSAP-SDGs), Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, reaffirmed the country’s commitment to the global development agenda, emphasizing the crucial role of sustainable development in Nigeria’s progress.

In a statement signed by her Media Adviser, Desmond Utomwen, the Presidential Aide stressed that Nigeria’s journey over the past decades reflects resilience, growth, and a collective determination to uplift the nation through inclusive development. “The SDGs provide a framework for us to build a more equitable and sustainable society for all Nigerians. As we celebrate our independence, we must recommit to achieving the SDGs by 2030, ensuring no one is left behind,” she remarked.

In collaboration with various stakeholders, the SSAP-SDGs has been implementing impactful programs across Nigeria, including initiatives in education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability.

As the nation continues to navigate economic and social development, Princess Orelope-Adefulire urged Nigerians to work together in achieving the SDGs, calling for increased collaboration between government, the private sector, and civil society.
