Afrobeats star Habeeb Badmus, known as Portable, has alleged that his loss to skit maker Carter Efe in a celebrity boxing bout was unjust.

In a fiery Instagram live video following Saturday’s match at the Chaos in the Ring 4 event in Lagos, the singer claimed the contest was skewed against him.

“I was robbed,” Portable said. “Carter Efe was not professional. He was strangling me with his long arms and height. I landed many punches—why were they not counted? Any blow I threw should have counted, even if it hit his shoulder or hand.”

He directed his frustration at the organisers, demanding: “I want my streaming money, around N200 million. Just give me my money before I cause trouble. They did ojoro for me. Carter Efe kept grabbing my neck. I was punching him too, but no one is talking about that. They knew he was tall with long reach, yet they put him in the ring with me.”

Despite the defeat, Portable insisted he was untroubled by losing his title, claiming family matters more than any belt.

“You can buy a belt with money, but you cannot buy a child. You people cheated. They cannot pay N23 billion. I thought I would dance with my belt, but instead I celebrated my new baby. My wife just gave birth to a bouncing baby boy. I value that more than any belt.”

The three judges unanimously scored the contest 27–30 in favour of Efe, ending Portable’s reign as celebrity boxing champion. Before the fight, Portable had boasted of securing a third belt, having previously beaten Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington.

Carter Efe, however, delivered on his pre-fight promise—“One punch and you fall”—using his superior height and reach to outbox Portable across all three rounds, landing cleaner shots and controlling the pace to claim the title.
