The Member Representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, Hon. Dan Amos, has revealed that he successfully secured a N1 billion allocation in the 2025 national budget for the construction of a theatre classroom and the rehabilitation of hostels at the Kaduna State College of Nursing, Kafanchan.

Hon. Amos, who also chairs the House Committee on House Services, made this known on Sunday while speaking to journalists in Kwoi during the birthday celebration of Kaduna South Senator, Barr. Sunday Katung, held with orphans at the Gweimen Centre in Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Describing the current state of the college’s hostel facilities as deplorable and unfit for human habitation, Amos expressed dismay that such conditions still exist in an institution meant to train critical healthcare professionals.

“It is shameful that in this day and age, students are forced to stay in such terrible conditions. That sight alone challenged me to act swiftly,” he said.

“That is why I worked hard to ensure that N1 billion was included in the 2025 budget for the improvement of the school’s infrastructure.”

He further stated that discussions are ongoing to engage the Kaduna State Government in a collaborative effort to uplift the overall standards of the college and other educational institutions in Southern Kaduna.

“I will also speak to the governor to see how the state can intervene and support this initiative further. We cannot afford to play politics with education and healthcare,” he added.

Highlighting other development efforts in his constituency, Hon. Amos said he remains committed to attracting key federal projects and interventions that would improve the lives of his constituents.

He also urged the people to shift focus from political distractions and instead support elected officials to deliver on their mandates.

“We are not yet even two years in office. Let us focus on governance and development rather than unnecessary politicking,” he advised.
