Inaugurating the new year with a celebration, His Excellency, Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia, the Executive Governor of Benue State, bestows recognition upon the first baby born in 2024 at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital in Makurdi.

The governor’s benevolent act marks a significant moment, emphasizing divine intervention poised to transform circumstances in Benue.

In a heartwarming ceremony, Governor Alia graced the newborn’s parents, Mr and Mrs Gabriel Tarver Fanan, with valuable gifts and financial assistance.

This gesture, aimed at acknowledging the blessed child, amplifies the belief in positive change during this pivotal moment.

During an interview, Mr. Gabriel shared the overwhelming joy and gratitude the family felt towards Governor Alia’s generosity.

In recognition of this benevolence, the newborn has been named Hyacinth Iormem Fanan, a symbol of appreciation for the governor’s kindness.

Governor Alia expressed gratitude to the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Benue State University Teaching Hospital in Makurdi for the commendable efforts in bringing about substantial positive changes within the healthcare facility.

Accompanying the Governor were prominent figures including the Chief of Staff, Hon. Paul Biam, and commissioners for Education, Cooperatives, Urban and Rural Development, Youths, Sports and Creativity, as well as Special Advisers on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Security Advisor External Affairs, and Agriculture and Climate Change.

In a moment that transcends political boundaries, the recognition of Benue’s firstborn of 2024 becomes a testament to Governor Alia’s commitment to positive transformation and community welfare.
